alt.fan.pratchett
alt.fan.pratchett is a UseNet newsgroup that discusses the writings of Terry Pratchett, the British fantasy and science fiction writer most famous for his hilarious Discworld books. As it turns out, Morris dancing is occasionally featured in his books and not unfavorably (although Pratchett himself doesn't dance). Unfortunately, the posters to alt.fan.pratchett are not always as kind.
There are two companion newsgroups: alt.fan.pratchett.announce where FAQs and various book concordances are posted and alt.books.pratchett which is a bit more focused on the books themselves than the fangroup.

English Folk Dance Project
The English Folk Dance Music Project makes, collects and preserves recordings of the dance tunes and songs that are commonly heard in connection with the traditional English dance. The eventual aim is to create a collection of recorded tunes which will serve both as a reference for the future, and as a source of entertainment. The first volume of this series, "The Folk Dance Music of the Cotswolds" is underway and will include five musical CDs and a CD ROM of audio visual material. A quiescent discussion group exists.

Irish Traditional Music List. IRTRAD-L@listserv.heanet.ie
IRTRAD-L is a moderately busy list with quite a wide range of topics covered under the narrow umbrella of Irish traditional music. Absolutely no morris content, but of obvious interest to musicians. Lots of tunes are exchanged (using abc music notation), discussed and analyzed. Good place to find record and concert reviews.
The IRTRAD-W Webring is an attempt to bring together websites of all subscribers of the listserv. Interesting idea.

uk.music.folk
The charter for says: "uk.music.folk is for discussion of folk/roots/acoustic music in and from the UK. Defining folk music has always been a precarious task and most of us who are into this kind of music have very catholic tastes which are reflected by the booking policies of most clubs. Therefore this group covers a broad range of tastes within that genre and embraces all those types of music that you would expect to hear in a folk - folk/blues club in the UK."
Steve Mansfield maintains an up-to-date FAQ page for the group that is worth reading for its own sake.
